Trades positions maintain and support the infrastructure and operations of schools in the Burnaby School District. Tradespeople play a crucial role in ensuring that school facilities are safe, functional, and conducive to learning. They enhance the educational experience maintaining the quality and safety of school facilities, directly contributing to the overall educational experience and well-being of students and staff.

Trades staff positions include: 

  • Carpenters
  • Electricians
  • Plumbers
  • HVAC Technicians
  • Painters
  • Millwright/Welder

Required Qualifications:

  • Trades Qualification (TQ) in trade
  • Demonstrated years of related experience

What the District offers: 

  • Hourly wage ranges from $41.13 to $43.23 depending on position
  • 12-month Regular positions are eligible for vacation days (based on years of seniority), 20 sick days for full year entitlement, dental and extended health benefits, life insurance, gratuity pay/leave, long-term disability, and pension
