Student Supervisors work throughout the district on an on-call basis. Student Supervisors are trusted to ensure student safety, resolve playground conflicts in a positive manner, and supervise students during recess and lunch in an assigned area inside or outside the building in elementary and secondary schools throughout Burnaby.
We are looking for outstanding employees who have an ability to build trust and respect, as well as model and reinforce proper behaviour and adherence to safety rules.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education
- Demonstrated ability and experience in working with children and/or adolescents
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Conflict resolution or non-violent crisis intervention training are assets
- Knowledge of basic first aid is an asset
This position requires: the physically ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, stand/walk for a 70-minute shift as well as the ability to build successful relationships, influence behaviour, and avert or resolve conflict thanks to your experience either raising or working with children.

- This position pays $29.26 per hour plus 16% in lieu of benefits
- Casual and Casual Temporary staff are eligible for employment standards sick days (ESA)
